HS Reunions: Okay.  Life was going good when out of the blue someone mockingly reminded you that your student body responsibilities from years past have somehow come back to your doorstep like an unwanted solicitor selling you fresh cuts of meat from the bed of his pickup.  Now you need to track down old friends and probably some folks you can’t even remember and if that’s not bad enough you need to plan a party for them all to have FUN.  And yes, this party has BIG implications because many in attendance will not have seen others for ages and most of the significant others won’t know many people at all!   Question: How do you make sure that this glorious reunion doesn’t end up looking like an awkward gathering of strangers trying to impress each other with the news of their latest promotion in which you would otherwise find more excitement at the local 7-11 Slurpy counter in July? Multiple Choice: a)  Hire the most experienced DJ - one that has performed at many reunions and who is close in age so that he can relate well with your classmates. b)  Hire a DJ with a behemoth music collection complete with an archive of great novelty music from those carefree high school days gone by. c)  Hire a DJ who is FUN and entertaining without being some goof ball. d)  Hire Laser Sound e)  All of the above The answer is quite simple and refreshingly definitive – E as in Entertainment Excellence! The above paragraph may be somewhat comic but the fact is there is a lot of truth between the lines.  It is my belief that reunions are one of the most difficult functions to get right.  Without an experienced entertainer who is well prepared you could easily have a flop instead of a reunion that was so much more than you expected.
